True Grit Winter ’25-’26 Tryouts

Athletes attending tryout sessions will be evaluated by our coaching staff for selection and roster invitation to one or both of True Grit's Winter team program options: 

1) Indoor Hard Court Team

2) Turf House League Team 

Athletes will be asked to identify program preferences during registration and players will be assigned based on tryout evaluations and experience. Tryout registration is required – we are unable to accommodate walk in players. Athletes must attend a minimum of one evaluation date and are encouraged to attend multiple sessions.

Indoor Hard Court Teams

• For experienced U12-U19 players - most selective. Players assigned to dedicated age group team with limited roster sizes per indoor 6v6 roster guidelines.
• Requires athlete purchase of specific indoor stick, footwear and glove if placed on team. Click here for sample video of indoor hard court field hockey discipline
• Season runs late Nov '25-late Feb '26 with weekend-only training/tournament play
• Sunday team practices @ Starland Sports – Hanover MA and 3-4 regional tournaments. Opportunity for invitation to National Indoor Tournaments (VA/PA)
• Final practice schedule and tournament dates will be issued with confirmation of team placement in early November
• Athletes selected to indoor teams may also participate in new Turf League, package pricing available and shared with team invitations

Turf House League Teams With Skills Training + Regional Turf Tournament Opportunities – New True Grit Winter Program Offering

• Open to U12-U19 intermediate and experienced players; teams leveled by experience
• Each 2-hour turf session will incorporate 40-min skills training PLUS house league turf games in Hockey 5s 5v5 format designed to enhance skill development and game play decision making with fewer players and smaller field size
• Season runs early Dec ’25- late Feb ’26
• Saturday sessions from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM at Riverside Sports – Pembroke MA
• Participating athletes will have opportunity for roster selection to regional winter turf tournaments hosted from Jan-March in MA, NH and CT.

TRYOUT SCHEDULE BY AGE GROUP

• Tryout registration is required – we are unable to accommodate walk in players.
• Athletes must attend a minimum of one evaluation date and are encouraged to attend multiple sessions. $55 tryout fee covers all dates.
